Services

Personal Care

Trained aides are ready around the clock to assist residents with whatever they need.

Assistance is offered with showering, dressing, grooming and incontinence care.  We test blood sugars, take vital signs and treat skin issues and more.  The aides get to know the residents very well, and pay close attention, using their skills and experience to notice the first sign of a medical issue.

Managing Medications

We bring each resident their medications at the right time, as ordered, and ensure that refills are obtained when needed.

Our registered nurses are on site five days a week and one is always on call.

They attend to doctor’s orders but focus much of their time on prevention, assessing residents proactively and acting on the aides' observations so as to inform the doctor and treat a problem before it becomes more serious.  This is where knowing each resident well makes a real difference.

What We Provide

Dining

We serve three nutritious meals daily. All food is prepared by our cooks using locally-grown produce whenever possible. We do not serve ‘institutional’ food. The vast majority of what comes out of our kitchen is made from scratch.

We provide choices at every meal and accommodate special diets, as well as personal likes (and dislikes).

And there is a range of times when you can come down for each meal – breakfast, as an example, is cooked to order from 7:00-9:00 a.m. each morning.

We also have a snack cart that visits each room with fresh fruit, packaged goodies, cookies from the kitchen, and the like.  And if you have a hankering for ice cream at 2 a.m., just let us know!

Housekeeping and Laundry

We check the residents’ rooms daily and clean them weekly, and as needed. We launder resident’s clothing and linens weekly in individual loads.

You and everyone have been kind and welcoming. I appreciate every bit!
— A Resident

Activities

The activities program is dedicated to creating many new opportunities for residents to embark on the establishment of new friendships and to share their personal histories as they learn about and contribute to their new community.  The goal is to enliven their daily lives and engage them, while nourishing their interests and awakening their curiosity.

Our current resident mix determines our activities calendars.  We offer everything from chair yoga to brain exercises, chorus practice to monthly birthday parties, Yellow Barn concerts to Scrabble games, Resident Council to educational programming, planting seeds to making Easter baskets for homeless children.

In addition to a full schedule of activities on site, we’ve taken residents out to meet a litter of 10-week-old Golden Retriever puppies and to see bald eagles down in Northfield.
